The Ritchies Boonah Arts Festival is an 8 day event every September that features street entertainment, competitions in art, performance, live theatre, writing, haute couture, debating, and more.
The Arts Festival is presented by The Boonah & District Cultural Foundation, President Graeme Crouch, organised by the festival committee, produced by hundreds of volunteers and participants, and supported by an enthusiastic community.
Richies Supa IGA generously sponsor the Arts Festival.
Growing from a series of street parade held many years ago, the Arts Festival developed into one of the most acclaimed cultural events in rural Queensland. It has become what it is today, thanks to the hundreds of people, young and old, who enter the competitions, design and make costumes, provide song, dance, and music, and the many volunteers who work behind the scenes in choreography, direction, backstage, administration, and tasks that are too many to mention.
The Arts Festival provides the whole community with opportunities to develop and display their skills, talents and creativity to perform and participate. Boonah is blessed with so many talented people who contribute to the cultural wealth of the district
